Happy New Year for 2014!

Welcome back everyone, as we're well into the second week of the new year.  We trust that you all had a safe and restful vacation, hopefully spent with those near and dear to you.

2014 looks equally busy as 2013, as we host next week our annual visit from the Langara College's Library Tech program. Each year, the Langara Lib. Tech students and teaching staff pay RHS a visit as part of their practical study component.  And each year we are delighted to host such an engaging group!  Our own Ms. McKenzie was also a grad from that program, thus we are happy to return the favor.

Not only do the Langara students see first-hand the workings of a secondary school library, but also they tour the entire school site, during which time they discover how varied and involved our RHS community is!  We offer so many different activities and programs, that visitors genuinely leave with an awe-inspiring perspective.

So please welcome our visitors next Thursday, January 23rd, as they spend most of the morning with us.

It is the last day before Winter break and oh what a surprise we had this morning...

We hope you have a wonderful break and "Happy Holidays".

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year back at Richmond Secondary.

Best wishes for the Holiday Season!

A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OUR RICHMOND HIGH FAMILIES!

BEST WISHES FROM YOUR LIBRARY STAFF

NEW BOOKS FOR HOLIDAY READING ARE ON DISPLAY TODAY!  CHECK THEM OUT BEFORE YOU LEAVE & ENJOY SOME WONDERFUL R&R WITH A GREAT BOOK!  :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....!

If you haven't stopped by the Library of late, you'll see a HUGE transformation!  Ms. McKenzie & all our little Library Elves have been super busy decorating!  Check out the window displays and the festive lights inside and out!

While you're at it, be sure to check out a book or two & put your name in for our annual Winter Wonderland prize draw.  As well, if you have any Library fines, your payment will go in to help the Food Bank's collection this year.  So thank you for your generosity!

Finally, our last New Book Collection for 2013 is now available for borrowing.  Come on by and check it out!

A "BIG" Thank you to Ms. Ho and Mr. Sheppard for a wonderful Remembrance Day Assembly.
The students did a great job - from the speakers, to the orchestra, to the choir.  It was nice to see some of our friends and verterans from courtyard Gardens.

Happy Hallowe'en Everyone!

Be sure to check out the Haunted Hallows of the Library this week, as we celebrate Hallowe'en this Thursday.  Many thanks to Ms. McKenzie and the Monitors for all their hard work!
Come by the Library, check out a book and a treat at the same time!

Hope to see you there!
