It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....!

If you haven't stopped by the Library of late, you'll see a HUGE transformation!  Ms. McKenzie & all our little Library Elves have been super busy decorating!  Check out the window displays and the festive lights inside and out!

While you're at it, be sure to check out a book or two & put your name in for our annual Winter Wonderland prize draw.  As well, if you have any Library fines, your payment will go in to help the Food Bank's collection this year.  So thank you for your generosity!

Finally, our last New Book Collection for 2013 is now available for borrowing.  Come on by and check it out!

A "BIG" Thank you to Ms. Ho and Mr. Sheppard for a wonderful Remembrance Day Assembly.
The students did a great job - from the speakers, to the orchestra, to the choir.  It was nice to see some of our friends and verterans from courtyard Gardens.

Avoid End-of-the-Year Line-ups!

All borrowed items are due back at the Library this Friday, May 31st.  Parents and students, please be sure to look thoroughly at home, in backpacks and lockers to find any forgotten materials.  It' s no fun standing in a long line-up, waiting to pay for lost or overdue books.  So put on your safari hat and start hunting early!

Staff are also reminded that teacher-resource items are due back June 13th.  You're welcome to borrow materials over the summer, but please check them in and out with the Library beforehand.  We require verification for Inventory purposes.

Movie Central!

Just a reminder that on May 15th we will draw for our Movie Prize Winners!  If you haven't had a chance to take out a book or magazine, come by the Library and put your name into the winner's circle!

Best of Luck for Final Exams, IB 12's!

Here's wishing much success to our IB 12 students, as they begin their 3 week session of final exams!

Study hard, but get lots of rest too!   

Just a reminder to leave any food, drink, books, notes and electronics in your locker or at home, as they are not permitted in the exam room.

Good bye to our Practicum Students!

Just a reminder that there will be no classes in session as teachers are involved with various professional development activities.

This will also be our last day with our Student Teachers and Practicum Students.  We'd like to thank them all for all their hard work, and wish them all the best as they move on to their next school, community site, job or further studies!

Check out the new display windows and all the books that have become major films!  Hard to believe there are so many out there!

Welcome to our RHS Library, Ms. Green!

Please give a warm welcome to Ms. Green, our Library Tech practicum student from Langara College!  Ms. Green will be with us for the next two weeks, working closely with Ms. McKenzie, as she trains to become certified in this field. 

Happy Spring, everyone! We're on the downward stretch!

Hope everybody had a great holiday, and is well rested as we return to our final term of the year.

Today, our Library Monitors & staff had good fun on an old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt!  The Library with its over 26K items make it an amazing place to hide things... :)

Next week, we shall have in our midst, a Langara Library Tech practicum student.  This individual will be shadowing Ms. McKenzie-Gibson and learning from all participants of our library, as she studies to become a Library Technician herself.  Please do all you can to welcome and assist Ms. Green, as she becomes part of our RHS community.

Good Luck to our IB 12's!

All the best to our IB 12 students as they head into oral exams.  Theatre 12 begins tomorrow, and World Languages start Monday, and carry on for two weeks. The finale will include English, which takes place in early March. 

Welcome Langara Library Tech Students & Staff!

Today, Richmond Secondary's Library is hosting the students from Langara's Library Tech program.  This is an annual visit whereby we showcase not only our school and library programs, but also encourage prospective candidates as Library Technicians in our School District.
