Next week Library Orientations begin for the Grade 8 classes

 

LIBRARY MONITORS

Our New Library Monitors will begin their orientations

as well with the help of our returning monitors.

Remember you need have completed this 6 step process by Nov. 14th

 

Library Monitors Club

The Library Monitors club is excited to see our Returning monitors and find our who our new monitors will be.  Applications forms for new monitors will be available on September 30th.   We are in need of Grades 8, 9 and 10's.
 
The Library Monitor volunteer list will be posted on Tuesday October 7th.
 
First Meeting will be held on Wednesday, October 8th at lunch (11:42 - 12:28).  The meeting will begin promptly at 11:50 am.
 
Library Orientations for the new monitors will begin on Tuesday, October 14th.  The sign up sheet will be posted on October 9th.
 
We are lloking forward to a "great year"

Just a reminder to everyone to keep your eyes out for any lost or forgotten items that have been borrowed from the Library.

As of May 30th, all materials must be turned in and fines taken care of.

Good Luck to IB 12 Students!

All the best to our International Baccalaureate students as they begin their final exams today!  All that hard work and effort will now pay off over the next three weeks.

Just a reminder to staff and students that these exams are taking place in the Small Gym, thus quiet in and around that area is much appreciated.

Good luck to everyone as you enter upon the last path of Grade 12 & your High School years! :)

IB Oral Exams this Week

Thank you everyone, for being considerate of our IB 12 students who are taking their final IB Oral Language exams in the Library this week.  These exams are being recorded and must be sent off to the IBO for final evaluation.  Thus, if there is background noise, the recording could be rejected.

So hats off to all of you, who may just be there yourself one day! And thanks for making everything easier for everyone!

Happy New Year for 2014!

Welcome back everyone, as we're well into the second week of the new year.  We trust that you all had a safe and restful vacation, hopefully spent with those near and dear to you.

2014 looks equally busy as 2013, as we host next week our annual visit from the Langara College's Library Tech program. Each year, the Langara Lib. Tech students and teaching staff pay RHS a visit as part of their practical study component.  And each year we are delighted to host such an engaging group!  Our own Ms. McKenzie was also a grad from that program, thus we are happy to return the favor.

Not only do the Langara students see first-hand the workings of a secondary school library, but also they tour the entire school site, during which time they discover how varied and involved our RHS community is!  We offer so many different activities and programs, that visitors genuinely leave with an awe-inspiring perspective.

So please welcome our visitors next Thursday, January 23rd, as they spend most of the morning with us.
